This is outrageous!
Just when Pittsburgh is finally getting back on track, this increase in property taxes will only serve to increase the already large number of vacant buildings in the city.
Also it will put a strain on the large elderly population.
The elderly in Pittsburgh are already big clients of social services. Many of them will now be forced to sell their houses and condos and move into public housing. Why is this a good move for the city of Pittsburgh? A smarter move would be to tax liquor.
